Red Wings 2021 Quick Preview with Greg Wyshynski

Hi everybody and welcome to Episode 85 of Red Wings Rant hosted by the Brothers of Discussion and brought to you by the Hockey Podcast Network. Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings, finally, have a home.

Today let's take a step away from the Detroit magnifying glass and get the national perspective of the upcoming 2021 NHL season for the Red Wings. That National Perspective is coming from Greg Wyshynski! The Senior NHL Writer at ESPN, co-host of Puck Soup, co-host of ESPN on ICE, and Author of Take Your Eye Off the Puck.

Greg is nice enough to play along with the Red Wings Rant Shenanigans, so we talk Christmas Candy, Grogu, and Interviewing talents.

We’ve got that and much more, so strap in!

Rochester Mills 12 Days of Christmas - Peanut Butter Cup

The Brothers of Discussion are excited and proud to present their first beer tasting of the network. We’re going festive for the holiday season and decided to sample Rochester Mills’ 12 Days of Christmas Beer Package. The Brothers will be tasting the beers for a flavor match to the beer’s name, drinkability, the packaging, and provide an overall score (weighted by the drinkability).

Rochester Mills is a Michigan Brewery, famous in the state for its 12 Days of Christmas Box Set. Release on an annual basis, the brewery tinkers with the list of 12 beers, but always follows through with a smooth, milk-like base.

Our third beer is the Peanut Butter Cup Stout. It is officially our favorite of the bunch so far, scoring in the high 8’s and 9’s!

January 1st Start Date

Greg Wyshynski and Matt get into discussing if the January Start date is still reasonable.

As Mike and Matt have discussed, the past couple of weeks, the NBA has taken major strides to prepare for their next season and will be putting together a Pre-Season as soon as this month.

The NHL, on the other hand, has supplied a litany of rumors surrounding a potential lockout and missing the entire season. Whether it’s disputed about past agreements or trying to find an interest payment for a new one, it is clear the two sides are far from an agreement.

Check out the interview to hear more from Greg!

UPDATE 12-16-2020

Check out our next episode where we discuss the NHL coming to an agreement with the NHLPA and a new start date being selected.
