LOL! Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre are number one! Sort of!

Welp...if you head on over to the WWE Instagram page, the Brothers of Discussion have a new reason to gloat! We've been talking about 'The Show' being marquee superstars on the main roster for months now. They were our pick for the most underrated Shake-Up acquisition, they took down the likes of Braun Strowman and Finn, they took down the Big Dog, Roman Reigns, and even held the Intercontinental Championship for a month.
Now, as your newly crowned Raw Tag Team Champions, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre have been honored as your number one ranking on this week's Power Rankings! Even greater than being the Universal Champion or the WWE Champion, is teaming up with Braun Strowman and out numbering your opponent 5-to-1 while you slaughter them and their hopes of besting you. Its official! We nailed it again!
Alright, sarcasm is hard to read, so I'll let you know that I'm making fun of myself and the WWE. First of all, who cares about these power rankings. I was even tickled to realize they still produce this every week. Secondly, how is a non-faction tag team allowed to be number one on this list? They are just three guys that hate the shield. If that is all it takes to become number one on this list, I think its time the Brothers of Discussion start hitting the campaign trails.
While it is an easy target, these silly power rankings, I would like to remind you all that this is the right way to handle these two superstars. If Braun is to eventually hold the Universal Title (which I'm not entirely sure that result would be the best way to go), he can't just feud with Roman and then hand the title back. Braun is going to need some future opponents and keeping Drew McIntyre at the top of the heap will legitimize his character and help us believe in his chances of winning. Its not a perfect plan, but Drew is the best hope we have at giving Braun more than one feud after he wins the title.
If that isn't the case, I'll remind you of how awful a turn weakening your "giant" can take. Reflect on the likes of the Big Show and Kane and their chances at main event status. They became laughable, caricatures of themselves and ended their careers as sideshows and gimmick fighters. I love both of those guys (especially Kane), but the goal should always be to strengthen your roster, not weaken it.
So while I do enjoy ribbing the WWE and their use of content creation, I'm going to applaud the macro-level potential of this recognition.
If you hate the power rankings, this decision, or see a better solution for Braun Strowman, let us know in the comments!
