We're inching closer to the big battle between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch at Hell in a Cell. The two superstars have decided to throw formalities to the wind with the latest interview. Charlotte is now going full boar into her "Queen" personality as Becky hunkers down into her tough, bad ass personality.

While it was subtle (and maybe even on accident) Charlotte made me hate her a little bit more. I'm not quite ready to say Charlotte's character is purposely turning heel (in turn, leading Becky to become a face), but if you pay attention to the details, you'll see something different.

Charlotte is now leaning on ideas like: "what was I supposed to do?" When we're in Charlotte's shoes, we may lean on that line, but its a cowards way out of admitting that you never had your friend's interests in mind. I think its okay to think that way, but it doesn't garner sympathy, as the writers might hope they'd receive for Charlotte. Instead, it comes off as another excuse from Queen Flair, for not being the person Becky thought she might be.

Charlotte was also not keen on letting Becky finish her thoughts. Now...I am the victim of this all of the time on the Brothers of Discussion podcast. At least when my brother and I get into a heated argument. Once I touch a nerve or start a subject that will go against the thought process of my dear brother, he'll run all over my points until I give up on making one. It drives me cray cray! And listening to Charlotte walk all over Becky's opportunities to speak brought up those same emotions in me. I wanted to throw my laptop across the room while yelling "Shut up!" to Flair.

For the sake of the blog and podcast...thankfully I calmed down.

Becky is also administering subtle changes. While the not so subtle use of the word "bitch" was the cherry on top of last week's promo, this week Becky was more subdued. She sat back, let Charlotte walk on her lines, and stared daggers through the camera. She was patient, but still pissed off. Its almost as if Becky knows something (and I mean the character...obviously, Becky and Charlotte know who is going to win). Does (the character) Becky know Charlotte's weakness? Does she have a plan? Is someone else getting involved? All of it just sends shivers up my spine and bolts of excitement to the old noggin.

Whatever the plan is (Becky Lynch's plan or the WWE's, however you would like to take this statement) I really hope we get to see these characters evolve into something new. Its our favorite part of storytelling (as humans) because we all like to hope we can all turn into better people, while at the same time, change is one of our biggest fears. Getting to see these types of situations play out gives us the chance to witness the beautiful or grotesque manifestations they create. I know most of us are on board for a Stone Cold type of change for Becky...but what could that turn Charlotte into?

I'd like to remind you all of the great Batman and Joker feud. The greatest feud of all time. Without Batman there is no Joker, but that doesn't go the other way. Whatever the Joker is or represents only serves to change who Batman is and the choices he makes. Even in his choice to let the Joker live, Batman is forever defining his personality as a man of rules and justice. Depending on how those rules and justice are defined, its not always a good thing.

The point here is that this story might be developing in an even greater way than previously predicted. If Becky is to arrive at Hell in a Cell with evil intentions, what will that bring out Charlotte? And maybe not at Hell in a Cell, but at Evolution in October? Very...very..intriguing and exciting!
