Rolling Stone’s wrestler of the year, (possibly) soon to be longest tenured Intercontinental Champion, winner of the Mixed Match Challenge and father to a brand new baby girl, The Miz…should be your Intercontinental Champion come Monday!

He’s fought through adversity, been booed out of arenas, and has even been accused of being a poor wrestler. The Miz has done everything possible to make us forget the bad days and has overcome any and all former issues through stick-to-itiveness, hard work, and his god given talent. I gush about the Miz all the time on the podcast in my former article for “Greatest Match of All Time”. We here at Brothers of Discussion love a fantastic Sports Entertainer and the Miz has got it where it counts!

With the huge triple threat coming, with Seth Rollins and Finn Balor, its hard to decide who would be best to win. If you’re iffy on why you should be rooting for the Miz on Sunday, here’s a few good reasons:

1.       Give the Miz a triumphant WrestleMania victory!

Do it! Do it WWE! This will be a wonderful nod to the man who has fought through so much, has done same thing, has never even sniffed being a face. He is hated on social media, he plays the bad guy on talk shows, and even when you watch his crappy movies, he still feels evil. The Miz has done so much to create this character and has done it for so long that major publications are taking notice and recognizing him. Owning this fact will propel the Miz to a new stratosphere of cockiness and need to boast. He will never let us forget his successes (as we shouldn’t) and will be wonderful fodder for the Miz to feed for years to come!

2.       One of the first heels in recent memory to keep this title important.

The mid-card titles are important to hardcore wrestling fans. But even weekly viewers of Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live find it difficult to care about every title. Even when John Cena held the US Title, he had to defend it every week to bring that title back to the level of respect it deserves.

That being said, this is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY harder for a heel to do. This is someone who the fans want to see lose the title and holding onto it for too long will create restless, bored, snarky fans. The Miz is such a wizard at his craft, however, that we have never come close to this happening (during this current title reign). The Miz has been at this heelish best and he finds a new way to keep this reign fresh and interesting (even after having to switch out his escorts from his Wife, Maryse, to Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas). Even over the past two weeks, he managed to trick us into think that the Miztourage was going to turn on the Miz and destroy their chemistry. I want to see more and admit it…so do you!

3.       The Miz is in his sweet spot and owning the Intercontinental Championship is in his blood.

More importantly, there are so many matches for the Universal Title that are not happening. Feuds that aren’t happening. Future champions in waiting. While the Miz is definitely deserving of a huge title run, I feel he is too good in this spot to be moved right now.

Of course…OF COURSE The Miz can handle a Universal Championship feud with Roman Reigns. But is that what the WWE needs right now? You’ve got to make Roman look even stronger coming out of Mania and (dare I say it?) Roman needs a long title run. Let the Miz take his shots in the fall, when we’re bored of Roman and we need someone to spice up those opening segments on Raw. The WWE has everything it needs on the roster to make the next Universal Championship match interesting, so let the Miz own and sell the middle of the card.

Ultimately, I have decided I will be happy with any of these guys winning the title. This WrestleMania is truly shaping up to be something special and to know there are so many matches that will provide good ol fashioned wresting is a wonderful thought.

Enjoy the show and tell us who you think should win the Intercontinental Championship!
