Royal Rumble 2021 Drinking Game

Royal Rumble 2021 Drinking Game

Please drink responsibly. This is to enhance the fun, not be the fun. We want you to be as safe as possible and hope you’ll keep this in mind throughout the match.

The 2021 Royal Rumble is nearly upon us and we’ve got the details on how you can add a few more sips of fun to your viewing experience.

While celebrating a big win for Big E or drowning your Bill Goldberg sorrows, the WWE doesn’t struggle to create moments that pair perfectly with your favorite cocktail or IPA, but let’s have a little bit more fun with it, this year!

Now, the Brothers of Discussion are regular attendees of the big event, so we aren’t always prepared to play a lengthy Royal Rumble drinking game. Bathroom breaks and concession stand lines makes sure of that.

But since we’ll all be at home this year, it’s time to dust off the old Rumble dry erase board, refresh the rules, and get our favorite cold ones chilly.

How to Play the Royal Rumble Drinking Game

Pick Your Wrestlers

This might be the easiest drinking game to play, but it’ll take a bit of eagle-eyed concentration on your part, especially considering it revolves around Royal Rumble eliminations. And, to say the least, sometimes the WWE cameras are busy with extracurricular activities as opposed to lining up a shot of…oh…I don’t know…Edge’s first spear in a decade.

So, here’s how to start:

You’ll be drinking when wrestlers eliminate their opponents when your wrestler is eliminated and if your wrestler wins the entire match and is given the main event spot at this year’s WrestleMania!

First, pick your favorite to win the match. As for me, I’ll be going with Big E and Bianca Belair. Remember, be strategic in your choice. The likes of Brock Lesnar or Braun Strowman will surely eliminate quite a few competitors, while Daniel Bryan may last a long time, but won’t be eliminating very many during his run.

If you or your fellow players have the same ‘favorite’ to win, either sort it out like adults or flip a coin. This is one flip, ‘no 2-out-of-3’ flip scenario.

Next, grab a D-30 (that’s a 30 sided dice, for all of you non-Dungeons and Dragons nerds). If you don’t have dice laying’ about your home, there’s plenty of sites online that’ll randomly output a 1-out-of-30 probability for you.

Roll that dice and write down that number. That number represents the entry spot of another wrestler you’ll be tracking throughout the match.

If your wrestler is eliminated, you may continue the fun by having the next wrestler to enter be your new playable character. You may also choose the wrestler who eliminated your pick. We also allow for a new D-30 roll for any of the remaining entries in the Rumble. At no point should any two players be drinking for the same wrestler. If all wrestlers have entered and your wrestler has been eliminated by another player’s wrestler, you are officially eliminated from winning the event. But go grab another beer, because you’re done yet.

Drinking Rules for the Royal Rumble

Based on the wrestlers you’ll be tracking throughout the match, you’ll be drinking during specific events during the match. Every drink, sip, shot, and chug will be based off your wrestler, save for the end of the match.

If your wrestler:

·        Skins the cat (pulls their entire body back over the top rope) – Take a shot

·        Eliminates someone – Take a sip

·        Attempts a re-entry to the Rumble from outside of the Squared Circle (Kofi/Shelton Benjamin Style) – Chug till successful

·        Is Eliminated – Finish your drink

·        Eliminates another players wrestler – Pick a shot for the other player

·        Wins the Royal Rumble – ‘Stone Cold’ your drink (pour whatever is left of your drink into your mouth catching whatever drops and suds fall in) and pick a shot for the other players to consume

Remember to have fun. Try not to look for more ways to get drunk unless you’re really, really, really upset about Goldberg (even then, our DM’s are open so just come and be sad with us).

Enjoy the Royal Rumble!
