NXT UK TakeOver Blackpool Picks

NXT UK TakeOver Blackpool is coming! Pete Dunne and Rhea Ripley are set to defend their titles in the first big Network Special of the NXT UK brand!

The first big Network Special for the WWE’s newest brand will be underway shortly! The Brothers of Discussion offered up their picks in this week’s latest episode, but here is a quick snippet of Matt’s picks.

NXT UK TAKEOVER BLACKPOOL

  • Rhea Ripley (c) v Toni Storm for the NXT UK WOmen’s CHampionship

    • I’m taking Rhea Ripley on this one. Rhea’s story isn’t complete and I think they want to ensure that the more polished performer is holding onto the title, at the end of the day.

  • Pete Dunne (c) v Joe Coffey of Gallus for the NXT UK Championship

    • The reign is over. Pete Dunne will relinquish the belt to Joe Coffey. Not on account of Coffey’s abilities, but to build this roster into something great! We know Pete Dunne is an amazing wrestler, but Coffey SHOULD prevail to ensure we don’t walk out of TakeOver Blackpool with only one singles competitor to look up to.

  • Moustache Mountain v Zack Gibson and James Drake 1st NXT UK Champions ((Grizzled Young Veterans, wtf?)

    • Another strategic move here, Zack Gibson and James Drake will win the UK Tag Championships to help build this roster. Look for some interference from Gallus as that feud (between Gallus and Mustache Mountain) continues to grow and Zack Gibson and James Drake can start to build this tag division.

  • Dave Mastiff v Eddie Dennis

    • The crowd needs to go home with one ‘Face’ victory. That’s why Dave Mastiff is taking down Eddie Dennis in what will be an opportunity for Mastiff to pull out all the stops (I hope…).

  • Travis Banks (Kiwi Buzzsaw) v Jordan Devlin (the Finn Balor trainee)

    • I think this match is going to involve a strategic booking as well. I think we can all agree that Jordan Devlin is destined for great things. His style closely matches that of his teacher, Finn Balor, and that should prove to mean a lot in his career. But more in need of proving something is Travis Banks. His hero persona will shine and he’ll get the night started off with a happy-go-lucky face victory.
