NXT 10-17-2018 Aleister Black and Bobby Fish Return

Another great show from NXT. What can you say that hasn’t already been said about NXT?

While this night could have easily been a throw away on paper, with a great booking of “double main events” (War Raiders vs Undisputed Era for the Tag Titles and Nikki Cross vs Bianca Belair) that ended without clean victories, the match aftermaths are what made this night unforgettable.

Bobby Fish returns to ‘in-ring action’ to help the Undisputed Era hold onto the Tag Titles and Aleister Black crashes the ladies match to find out who put him on the shelf.

Both of these scenarios have deep felt repercussions for main event stories going forward. First of all, lets talk Bobby Fish.

Bobby Fish is Back. So what’s next for Undisputed Era?

Fish coming back brought up a lot of the same thoughts from social media users and myself: what does this mean for Undisputed Era going forward? Is this team all about what’s best for the team? Did Roderick Strong prove his worth or was he just a pawn for their title run? And where does the long time pairing of Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly go from here? Are we going to get some more Free Bird title pairings or does Fish have to wait his turn?

SO MANY QUESTIONS!

For me, I think the most interesting story would be giving the axe to Roddy. He’s definitely served his purpose, but for the Undisputed Era to pull off a truly sinister act and prove their loyalty to each other (before Strong) they would have to do something like this. Maybe they only saw the real use for Roddy was in keeping the tag titles close, while Adam fought for NA Title. Maybe not?

We definitely aren’t going to see the separation of Fish from Kyle. Red Dragon, as they were known around the world and ROH, is just too damn good to see be forcibly split up for story line. The better story is showing that, despite being heels by nature, they never forget who helped get them there and how strong those relationships become.

But maybe its not about making a statement of loyalty to Fish, but a statement of “once a part of Undisputed Era, always a part of Undisputed Era”. As we have all predicted their call-up to the main roster, in the coming months, we should probably expect to see Roderick follow along for the ride. I mean…he’s on the t-shirts now for gods sake! The WWE can’t afford to make another one!?!?!

Just kidding! They’d love for you to buy another one!

Who Attacked Aleister Black?

Well…here we are again. We’ve been asking this question for months and I’m sure by the next episode of NXT, we might have a better idea of who attacked Aleister. After all, we’ve already done a piece on who Aleister Black is: he’s a character that thrives on showing us that no gets away with besting Aleister Black.

Even as an NXT Champion, he was never better than when he was a complete bad-ass who cared more about putting on a great in-ring performance that proved he was the best. Better proving his talents than any shiny belt every could.

I think Ciampa is too on the nose, but Gargano being the culprit (while still predictable) is what Johnny Wrestling needs to become relevant in the main scene again. With the end game being the final match between Ciampa and Gargano at next years WrestleMania TakeOver event. It writes itself and I’ll be damned in predicting now means it won’t be a good match. We all know its going to happen because it would be so perfect! Just do it!

Just to reiterate. Gargano did this…somehow…and we’ll see it all go down in the weeks leading into War Games. Maybe a Gargano vs Black match to start the night? I know the NXT spoilers are out there already, so lets try not to ruin it if you know!
